Satellites In Orbit reach new heights in Alternative Hip Hop on a sonic hallucinogen titled “That’s True.” The trippy audio gem finds the daring duo venturing off into uncharted territory after an overindulgence of pharmaceutical recreation. Newport, Oregon’s DATACRON & NYC’s DRGS recount past psychedelic experiences while summoning a synthesized soundscape that will keep your mind racing.
We’re given a brief respite from the paranoia-inducing atmosphere with a quirky chorus that is equal parts Devo & Marshall Mathers. Cuts, scratches, and assorted sound bites assault our senses before the “Space Punks” kick back into gear. If you’re only a fan of the hardcore aesthetic this might not be your cup of tea. But for listeners who appreciate something a little “out of the norm” we suggest you check out “That’s True.”
