The Scribes drop “Focus” video

Bristol, UK artisans once again wield weighty word craft and audio artistry. The poetic prose pushers are fluid in melding divergent styles in a poignant and pleasingly quirky way and “Fluid” is no exception. The new cinematic piece showcases the talented emcees flipping fluidly over knocking yet soulfully melodic platter stylized by Vice Beats and featuring the Birmingham Symphony Youth Orchestra. In order of appearance are Jonny Steele who spits rapid fire lexicon while featured artist Donnie Numeric floats smoothly, and ill Literate freaks the flow.

When asked about the video, Ill Literate shared, “We loved the track from the second we heard it, such a rich sound combined with Vice Beat’s banging drums. We sat down and wrote lyrics together for it, eventually really leaning into the hypnotic sound of the melody to arrive at a theme of staying focussed on a goal even if it seems distant. We then filmed the video in Plymouth with Lloyd Ashman media over the course of a couple of days, he conceptualised the whole idea for the shoot and executed it really well, resulting in a video we’re very happy with!”
