The Untold Story of Emmett Till
Profile of a Savage Killing in America
A savage murder! An old fashioned American lynching! The brutal and psychotic murder of Emmett till, a 14-year old boy is the subject of this brilliantly produced documentary.
A young boy from Chicago goes to Money, Mississippi to spend time with family members and is brutally killed for reportedly “whistling at a white woman.” Young Emmett was dragged from his bed in the middle of the night, savagely beaten, shot and killed. His body was then dumped in the Tallahatchie River in Mississippi.
Director Keith A. Beauchamp accomplished his task brilliantly. This film will take you behind the scenes to reveal the pain and sorrow that was thrust upon the Till family by the senseless 1955 killing. This is a slice of tragic American history that vital for documentation to avoid a repetition of History. To see and hear Emmett’s mother talk about the first time she saw her son after the killing is an untimely heart break. This THINKfilm release is currently available on DVD.
“Highly recommended, brilliant filmmaking…” Tony Samuel
