Film producer, Paula Wagner has plans to bring the life story of Sylvia Robinson to the screen. For those who don’t know, Sylvia was the co-founder of Sugar Hill Records, the label responsible for bringing hip hop staples such as “Rapper’s Delight” and “The Message” to the scene. She is often credited as breaking hip hop into the mainstream and had a relatively successful career as a singer in the late 1950’s. Music executive Robert Kraft will co-produce the film. Sylvia’s son, Joey Robinson will be the executive producer of the project with Grandmaster Melle Mel serving as a consultant.
