2) DANIEL SON & FUTUREWAVE joined forces with ROME STREETZ for a “Son Tzu & The Wav.God” power collabo that bumped an underground fave off the charts! “Field Trips” is a stand out joint from the expertly crafted platter that showcases 2 lyrical sorcerers and one production genius who are so on top of their game that all competitors need to retire from the sport! The hypnotic track & insane wordplay’s got us losin’ our f***in’ mind!!! We’re absorbing every second of this opus & will be comin’ back for more!!!
3) INNOCENT? casts chumps aside while laying down the law on a BIG JAZZ crafted banger called “Try Me!” The soul-infused sizzler performs double duty as a “pick me up” party anthem AND hardcore explosive you’ll be compelled to play well into the night. Experience audio heat at its apex! The warrior of wordplay skates across the slick soundscape & batters any sucker who steps in his way!!!
4) MEPH LUCIANO, D.R.E. COLOMBIAN RAW, CK, NONCHALANTLY ZAY & JAE HUSSLE drop deadly bars on Wu-Tang inspired steez called “New Tang!” The raw as f**k banger (also produced by Meph) takes head nod heat to a new level as it shines a spotlight on top tier lyrical styles from these emerging underground avengers! It’s not just a dope joint we chose for the countdown. It’s four minutes and 41 seconds of sonic bliss!!!
5) JAMAL GASOL teams up with STREET JUSTICE for a “More True Stories” mega heater laced by WORK SCORSESE! On what is undoubtedly one of The Diadora Don’s greatest tracks to date, the power spitter relates the lessons he’s learned over a stunning soundscape by the acclaimed beatsmith! You can level up but everyone can’t come wit’ ya. If you can’t teach your homies to boss up it’s time to leave ’em in the dust. “Ignorance Is Bliss” but Knowledge is King!
6) CA$ABLANCA & CAP CHINO pulled some real sleeper cell s**t on the listeners by giving us the impression they’d be taking the last day of ’21 off to kick back. But Noooo, these ultra-talented icons leapt into action with enough heavy artillery to annihilate all opposition & effectively claim the underground as their own!!! On “EndGam3,” Cap digs DEEP into his production bag to pull out a track that’s still making us pick up our jaws off the floor! Just when we recovered it, Casa blew our brains out with his rapid-fire rhyme spree! We’re starting the year off by headin’ to the E.R.!!!
7) COUSIN FEO & LORD JUCO ended ’21 with their final DEATH AT THE DERBY of the year & ya already knew it was a banger!!! BOZACK MORRIS is behind the boards for this grimy masterwork called “Merseyside Meyhem” that sounds like the duo are tunnelin’ thru the very underground that serves as their domain! Friendship is put on hold as Feo and Juco fight to the death with DJ DUBPLATES refereeing both sides!!!
8) We couldn’t get enough of JAMAL GASOL’s “More True Stories” platter so it was imperative we include the KOOLMAJORZ crafted sizzler “Make Amends” featuring SKYZOO! Dirty Waters & BK unite to run rings around any other region for its three minute & fourteen second duration. There were plenty of dope tracks droppin’ toward the end of the year but few could reach the heights achieved here!
9) NOWAAH THE FLOOD & D-STYLES smoked all rivals on their “Creme De La Creme” opus & one of the main reasons was this SUBSTANCE810 featured sonic triumph titled “Federali!” The joint’s about as hardcore & sinister as it gets…and did we mention before, it’s spearheaded by 2 of the dopest MCs on the underground?!? D-Styles cloaks ’em both in impenetrable audio armor. Don’t even THINK about it…You couldn’t stop ’em if you tried!!!
10) Pop some bottles & prepare for a lyrical feast cause MAGNO GARCIA’s hittin’ ’em wit’ “Champagne Poetry 2022!” The victorious verbal warrior remains undefeated as he drops jewels over a jubilant joint sent from above. This track showcases the majestic MC in his most aggressive & boastful mode to date…and with good reason. Homeboy is dope! Suckers called Magno out then they saw him & hid! “Squid Game/You could die tryin’ to play wit’ The Kid!!!” It’s time for all rivals to start runnin’!
