With eclectic speaker dynamics and potent introspective bars Shamire and Luca Brasi 753 sculpt a boutique collection of underground steez that merge smokey jazz, percussive knock and artisanal stylistics on the “Grinch’n II: All Men Bear Arms” LP.
Straight off catching wreck at a set during “The Brit Is Coming” performance art exhibit live in BK, where visual artist Craig Dyer showcased his underground album art masterpieces alongside performances by underground enigma Action973 and other talent, Shamire helped light up the night.
When asked about the new album, Shamire explains, Luca Brasi753 been reached out to me early on in the year and told me he really liked my last release “Eyes Wide Shut.” Asked if he could send me some beats, I gave them a listen and thought some could fit with some projects I was working on at the time. Fast forward, around september we touched base on any progress with the beats eventually came up with the idea to just make a full album for a halloween drop. It was a challenge I was up for, putting my pen to the test in a timely fashion. The beats were grimey and darks so it gave me a halloween feel although it’s called “GRINCH’N…” We both thought about who we should get to feature on the album and we both agreed Mondo Slade would bring that extra grit and humor that can give the album more personality. Sent Mondo Slade the track, he seen the vision and delivered.
Shamire shares that his alter ego is ANÜ and explains,
creative tool to convey my creative messages and esoteric truths sonically and visually through art. Others that inspire me and has a similar lineage of branding are artist like flying lotus/captain murphy, mf doom, madlib/quasimoto, tyler the creator, pharrell etc. They all had an extra creative vessel that they made their art live through whether it be a cartoon character or just hidden alter ego that added to the mystique.
Sink you teeth into this underground Tour de force loaded with fly flair and audio artistry.
